"Till death do us part "
0815 Balik rumah. Watch American Pie - BETA with Alya n Safiah.
1100 Dads working late. Cant pick up Ishak frm Robsen.
1115 Otw to federal highway. With Alya.
1120 Stuck in traffic jam. At this hour, uncommon.
1127 High-peech siren came from d opposite direction.
Police cars and motorbikes rushing at high speed because of i-dunno-wht.
1130 Police vehichles are honking from behind us now. The tone - "Give way demit."
1131 Cars stopped abruptly, and completely.
1140 Drivers off their engine. I got out of d car, walk in d middle of the 3-lane highway(that became 4, now since Msian drivers r bound to jump Q during such events). To see whts d fuss is abt, i was willing to witness whts ahead of me.
1142 Apparently, red cones were stationed across d road, deter us from driving ahead.
1143 Then i saw it. An accident went terribly wrong.
Toppled, white old car on the fast lane.
On d kura-kura lane, a Neo with slashed tyres. D car's body was on d ground as tho it was driven without tyres.
1153 Walked bck to my car.
1201 Police finally open up one lane.
1202 Driving by d scene, i saw, wht looked like a limb (arm or leg, unsure) being carried up by a policeman n shoved in a 'guni'.
1220 Reached Robsen Heights.
Frm wht i heard, 2 people were killed that night. Was sure dat bits n pieces of body parts were scattered on d road, which made d whole experience errie. Luckily Alya was there. Tht chicken shit persuaded me to witness it while she stayed in d car. If only we both had gotten out..
Someone's dad, brother or son had passed away. We will all die one day. Its a cycle of life, that we kno. But its HOW you die or shud i say d life-taking process that differs from one soul to another. I hope the 2 ppl had died fast n painless.
The moral ? SKAs and SKA's famly betha learn n practise defense driving. You nvr kno it mite jst save lives. p.s/ ENJOY LIFE. yeay hahahahahahah

random thoughts
i have elevated to a whole new level in the play truant department. never have i in the boring-est class ever ever ever just walk out. literally packed my bag in the middle of lecture and left. but yesterday i did. to make things worse, i sat in the 1st row. right under his nostrils. but i did plan my escape. there were few loose papers under the desk and a pencil - which someone conveniently left it for my great escape. scattered the papers and pencil across my desk to make it seem like im just going for a loo break. but my inconveniently big bag gave it away. im pretty sure he knew that i wasnt gonna come back. but whatever. it was first day of class anyway. he was just yapping away about GDP growth and the difference between economic growth and economic development. ill just give him some girly excuse the next time i see him. ohhh but the guilt that came later was overwhelming making it even more worth it.
on something completely unrelated, i think having a relationship is like having a car. the responsibility that comes with it. you have to care, love and trust. i am whole when i have my car. now that i dont have JC (shes in a car hospital @ the mechanic), i feel part of me is missing. i guess thats how it feels to be in a relationship. ure complete when u have ure person but when the end comes, ure half again. thats gotta hurt.

of an empty house
checked the results of my 'hardwork' burning the midnight oil for the two weeks i had in between papers. 1 paper i barely made it thru (fiuhhhhhhh thank god hes not gonna have to see my face again) and the rest are mediocre. a thought came to mind "man aleee, u gotta slosh ur way thru next semester if u still wanna be in the game. dont be slothful" which i get all the time right after checking my results. but im still what i was in my 1st year. strike one!
jeda took the midnight flight back to her waiting husband yang dah gerhana bulan dan bintang itu. its only been a month bro. well, i gained the pleasure of maximum utility of sleeping in a double bed alone again. but it sucks.thats two.
i woke up this morning to a tidy right side of my bed and a tidy bed on my left.great. an empty room and house. twas raining when i got up and its still is. went down to a dull breakfast table. oh life of emptiness has come back. called mom to be informed that she has to be in the office for a meeting at 11. went back to my room and started frantically dialing trusted people's number to make the feelng go away. izza picked up but too mamai to talk. the others still in slumber, but the person i can count on called back. thanks soz. thats strike 3.
hmmmm wheres that flee infested bushy smelly cat that i love. bebehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mana lu?

BERSIH (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections)
The 2007 Bersih Rally was a rally held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on November 10, 2007. Event organizers intended to have a peaceful, non-violent rally, advising participants in the days and weeks beforehand how to keep the rally peaceful. However the rally was marred by government sanctioned police violence. The aim of this walk was to campaign for electoral reform. It was precipitated by allegations of corruption and discrepancies in the Malaysian election system that heavily favor the ruling political party, Barisan Nasional, which has been in power since Malaysia achieved its independence in 1957.
BERSIH demanded :
1. Usage of Indelible Ink. (which has already been agreed to by the Electoral Commission).
This makes it much more difficult to commit electoral fraud by lodging more than one vote.
2. Clean-up of Registered Voters Roll.
The removal of, for example, deceased people from the Registered Voters Roll. Such erroneous entries are too easily abused for fraudulent electoral gain.
3. Abolition of Postal Votes.
These too are easily abused. The majority of postal votes at Malaysian elections come from Malaysian Public Servants working overseas as diplomats or peace keepers. It has been suggested that these public servants are routinely bullied into voting for a particular candidate by their employer.
4. Access to the Government controlled print and broadcast media for Opposition Parties.
This is perhaps the most important demand made by BERSIH. Opposition parties need the same access to Newspapers and Television that is afforded to the Government if they are to effectively communicate their policies to the Malaysian people.
These demands have been incorporated into the Memorandum for submission to Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. The points can be seen on yellow BERSIH T-shirts worn by many participants during the rally. Yellow is the color that has been chosen to represent the BERSIH movement.

of age
omg. im turning 21 in exactly 10 days. how time flies man. i cant imagine im THERE. where all the (supposedly) fun in life begins. freedom (as in driving license), maturity (nahhhhh dont think im ther yet), love, relationships, the few years left to be under mom n dad's bank accounts. i used to envy my sisters when they were where im now. its funner when u were the spectator. proly cuz you grow bored of doing the same thing. or proly cuz u make believe that freedom is fun when u want it, but when u have it, its nothing more than just doing stuff at your own pace, and later u just have to have more. but i know 1 thing i wont be bored of. my ability to drive like alonso (as dubbed by nikhanis). weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
i guess what im trying to say is that when i look back, i cant say that my life is fulfilled. there are many things that i want to do, but havent gotten the opportunity to do it (blame it on the passive genes in me.. LOL). have yet to make a list of things to do in life, but i have a vague idea.
1. travel the world
2. go to a war torn country (but im afraid of wounds..hmmm)
3. make a difference in someone's life
4. shop til i max the credit card (oppps i dont believe in interest rate, debit card sounds better)
5. cut the baby fat (LOL.. still in denial its not baby fat)
6. go skinny dipping in sungai pahang (or any lake or sungai for that matter)
7. go for non-stop movie marathon
8. volunteer for a cause that i believe in
hmm. i cant think of anything else for now.
ive been really busy with assignments n the anxious feeling of final exams (cant think straight when im anxious). i really wana do something fun on my birthday. throw a party and dance the night away (my mom wud sooo kill me!) or have a great dinner party, or something. it is my 21st birthday anyway. its the mark of adulthood, ushering yourself to something bigger than just sending in homework on time or study hard and get good grades. LOL who am i kidding. im still doing that (excluding the latter). but anywho, i want to get out of this feeling of content. i want more.
sign,

i was totally freaked out when she told me that. didn't know how to react. i mean..imagine having another baby brother/sister (the gender is still unknown) at 21! that's freaky no? and i kinda think that my dad's not really excited about it because everytime we talk about the baby, he's like so tak layan. i guess he's freaking out too. i wasn't happy at first but i think i'm getting used to it now.
woohoo!! i'm gonna have a baby soon. hehe.

Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan ke-50
Cool Slideshows! |
Pictures : The Star Online website, www.thestar.com.my
For those who missed the show at Merdeka Square, these are some footage to show how Malaysian we areeeeee. The colours, cultures and everythinggggg is soooo wonderful. If you didnt kno, these were the people that came from across their country and celebrated 50th Merdeka Day with us (to be exact, with our King and Ministers only lerrrr):
Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah
British Prince Andrew
Thailand's Crown Price Maha Vajiralongkorn
Thai Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong
Eventho we've reached 50 years of Independence, we have a long way to go in the attempt to succeed into the rapid development that our country is facing now. Given the changes, one must be truthful, sincere and determined to lead. Not only that, protect the interest of the public
(maslahah), educate the young generations in becoming future successor, eliminate poverty and ensure fair distribution of wealth, curb corruption and deception.
Most of us are still living and boosting about how great our previous warriors & rulers have been in the past but fail to come out n build a better and greater nation than them. I kno all dis seems to be a huge burden but as Muslims (or Non-muslim for dat matter), we must strive and struggle together to fulfill the objectives of Independence and adhere to the spirit of Rukunegara.
After that, all is hissstooorrrryyyyyyyyyyy~

Goreng Cempedak
was going thru my collection of pictures (kata peeekture keeper of SKA) when i accidentally found a few peeektures of me n yaya making cempedak goreng. SEDAPPPPP okayyy. it began with my craving of 3 weeks for durian. pestered anyone who cared to listen to makan durian with me. (well i cant be eating a whole bunch of durians by meself. nnt pass gas yang terlalu menyedapkan) so anyway, was on our way back home from land of unholy on a nice thursday afternoon. baruuu je turn nak masuk highway tu, nampak ada a small stall by the roadside selling DURIANSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. did an emergency brake (nasib baik takde kereta kat belakang. fiuhhh!) and terus park by the roadside. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. alas! dream came true. we decided to eat a few there and bring back home the rest. there was this chinese uncle2 soooo engrossed with his durian as if there was no tomorrow. he was so nice to offer me some of his but i dont like that too pahit kind. no thanks uncle. next thing i knew, suraya speaking mandarin in full swing to the other uncle!
yaya: *ching chong*
uncle1: *ching chong*
yaya: *ching chong*

uncle2: *ching choooooong*
not that i understoond anything (sorry ya.i dont know how to reenact ur conversation! heh) so durian, check.cempedak,check.suraya,check. off we went back to KD. the rest are history. hehe. some peeeeektures to tell what happened next.

Darfur, Sudan
Darfur is situated in the West of Sudan and covers an area the size of France (the size of Texas). For a number of years it was the scene of sporadic clashes between farming communities such as the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa, and nomadic groups, which led to many deaths and the destruction and looting of homes. The government blamed competition over scarce resources for the clashes.
In February 2003 a new armed opposition group, the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) took up arms against the government, because of what they perceived as the lack of government protection for their people and the marginalisation and underdevelopment of the region. The support base of this armed group came mainly from the agricultural groups in the region. Shortly afterwards another armed group, the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) emerged.
The government of Sudan responded by allowing free rein to Arab militias known as the Janjawid (guns on horseback) who began attacking villages, killing, raping and abducting people, destroying homes and other property, including water sources and looting livestock. At times government troops also attacked villages alongside the Janjawid, and government aircraft have been bombing villages sometimes just before Janjawid attacks, suggesting that these attacks were coordinated. The links between the Sudanese armed forces and the Janjawid are incontrovertible, the Janjawid are now wearing uniforms provided by the army.
"The Janjawid arrived and asked me to leave the place. They beat women and small children. They killed a little girl, Sara Bishara. She was two years old. She was knifed in her back."Aisha Ali, from the village of Sasa, near Kornoy town in North Darfur.
Every now and then we are reminded of the worldly events. Such events are hard to accept at times; the images, the sufferrings, the torcher, the broken spirits.. With all dat had happend in the past & now at the present, we must alwys b grateful n thankful for the life we r blessed with. and most of all, strive to be better in evrythn we do. insyaAllah we will make it. baby steps..

A Documentary by Katie Barlow : Sunday, 29th July 2007, 9am-12 noon, Islamic Arts Museum
What drives a young well-educated Westerner to volunteer as a "peace activist" in the Middle East? Caiomhe Butterly is one of a growing number of volunteers who risk their own safety to intervene in the long-running and bloody conflict between Israel and Palestine. Several internationals, including her, have now been injured. Some have died.
In this film, she describes witnessing the aftermath of the attack on Jenin in April 2002. this film follows her work, the main emphasis being "the accompaniment of communities at risk". Despite being threatened, shot in the leg and deported later that year, she is determined to go back.In the interim, she brings her story back to her native Ireland at public meetings, receives a Time Magazine "European Hero Award", and travels to post-war Iraq to visit the Palestinian refugee camps. She arrives back in Jenin, shortly before a young woman from that community, Hanadi Jaradat, blows herself up in a suicide bombing in Haifa.
Activist such a Butterly are usually stereotyped as lunatics, meddlers or saints. this film offers an insight into a brave, honest, determined yet self-critical woman who takes direct action to the limit, with no quest for glory. She also serves as a conduit into the everyday lives of Palestinians, who are also usually presented to the viewer in a one-dimensional way, as fighters or victims, heroes or fanatics. This film gives us a rare chance to see what she calls "the spaces of beauty and joy" created by a people under occupation.
We invite you to RSVP and join us for the documentary screening on Sunday 29th July 2007, 9am-12noon at the Auditorium, Islamic Arts Musem, Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur.
Admission is FREE.

Marriage
haha seriously, only the whole kadi-speech & the environment make the ceremony of akad nikah 'pressurable'. It is a feeling like no other i bet. Gettin married to the person whom you wish to spend your whole lifetime with, share laughter & tears with, responsibilty & duties etc. but most of all, in the art of making lurrveeee & babieeessssss!
wat am tryin to say is, to all of my partners-in-crime, skas, i hope in the near future we will all get the same happiness and love once we're married(evn for now actualli). The future is uncertain, or shud i say, gharar (hehe). At any point of ur life, the decision that u make determines what lies ahead of you, the risk we shall all take one day, in steppin-in the marriage life.
anyhow, we shud all make a contract, say for the love of our sisterhood. hehe each contribute a certain amt of money. whomever marry 1st will b given the stash of moneyyyhhh. or maybe this, whn we hold Bacholerette Party, we will all belly dance n wear hot sexy clothes & perform for the bride-to-be! haha any other days, text it.

me, have a muslim identity? say what?!
HAPPY 070707 SKAs!
anywhooooooo, YMP is organizing our fortnighly talk about another unique discussion related to youths... What does it mean to have a Muslim Identity? Heck, what does ‘Muslim Identity’ even mean??? If you’re interested in finding out or even tossing in your own ideas and opinions then join us this Sunday afternoon for a session of knowledge, food & friends!
Brother Abdulhamid Evans will be our special guest speaker this time around. Listen in wonder as he shares with us his journey to Islam during the Hippie 60’s in England & Ireland. He has a self-described Ph.D in ‘Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Roll’. Get the insight on how a small number of European Muslims did small things at a time to bring about big positive changes that last till this very day, especially in countries such as England, Germany & Spain.
Most importantly, find out how his journey to Islam in Europe has many parallels with what it’s like for young Muslims in Malaysia today & how we can strengthen our own faith and from it bring about positive changes.

victim of money laundering
i got a call yesterday from BukitAman police officers, saying that am a freakn alledged suspect in the case of loan shark notorious - Lim Chee Weng. watdahelll mannnnnnnnnnn. i find it so funny until they started calling me again today n ask me to appear infront of the high court.
i spoke mandarin w the officers cause its so BLARDEE hard to understand their english. i dmanded dat i speak to a person who can speak eng n bm fluently, but Officer Yew insisted that he can speak, n he is a msian dat studied abroad, n dat i shudnt complaint bcos am a malay who speaks mandarin (wtf dat means i oso duno). our conversation dint become serious until i got rili angry whn he askd me d questns dat ive alredi answrd ystrdy, i deliberately told him dat i would shut d fuckn phone until i get a freakn letter frm the HighCourt about my 'crimes'. he sed my letter mite b sidetrackd cos d address they found (frm bankers dat sell bank accounts to loan sharks) under my name was in K.L.
i was like fak. am a msian citizen, n if u say ure d police n watnot, u could trace my correct add within minutes w d given i.c. no. and its his freakn job 2make sure i get my freakn letter so dat thers no misundrstndg. ni cam call rumah org, ask u to go to HighCourt, without given prior notice of why d hell is ur presence needed there.
and den Officer Yew threatened me, sayin dat if i dun comply n cooperate, ill b held in prison. he warned me, n told me dat he'll come to my hse n ascort me to bkt aman. ntah paper dowhh. if hes SO blardee sure wher i live, wats d harm of him sending me a freakn OFFICAL letter. penat la layan org2 ni. no, instead, he continously ask me d same questns n whn i answr i must alwys repeat myself, n u call urself msian. mayb i undrsntd. mayb if i was d REAL suspect, am xpected 2give diff answrs 4 same questns. but if is SO serious, i whud have gotten a letter then only a phone call. i got d latter 1st instead. its like weve alwys known dat in msia thers alwys STUPID prosedures to follow. n here it is, a basic e.g. of msian gov not following these prosedures. its so simple, send me d letter n ill cooperate. u nvr these thngs chud b a scam.
whn they jot down my name, I CAN'T BELIEVE that they dun even kno wats d meaning of SPACE!
p.s/ if u were msian, u whud undrstnd dat a muslim name comes w binti or bin, n dat u'd undrstnd instantly wat it means by space. sheeshhh. i feel like am living in China during these encounters. btw, my hp n hse phone is ringing off d hook for d past hour cos i slammd d phone.sorri la, i do wan 'em 2catch d bad guy, but their approach on dis matter is f.o.s.....

then the bus driver who was amazingly intellectual(u never know wht ppl r till u talk to em) was discussing religion wit me n hanzy.his german, staying in nz.he had his own i deas abt islam, the normal misconception tht islam=arab.soooooooo not!we really put things in perspective 4 him n he was really impressed.his a graduate of psycology or something.i was quite proud of the lil we could do to try to save the name of islam.he said he will convey the msg to his german friends coz germans like to try to "get to the root of things"(according to him).he did an impressive rsearch on our religion himself, then he tried to explain islams certain prohibitions-relating them to the olden days n how these days we dont need em anymore.we tried clearing things out 4 him(hope we did well)

Children of Sorrow
• 1 billion people around the world live on less than $1 a day
• 12 million children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Africa and that number is expected to climb to 18 million by 2010
• Education is a powerful investment we can make to fight poverty, yet worldwide over 77 million children are not enrolled in primary education, more than half of whom are girls
• Over one billion people lack access to clean water and 2.6 billion do not have access to basic sanitation. Every 15 seconds, a child dies from problems caused by lack of clean water

freaking out
but you know, this time its true. i almost failed (i got her to raise my marks!) my midterm and when i went to see my lecturer for consultation, she said for a 5 mark question, a good answer would be two pages.
2 pages! WTH!!!
it was the most discouraging conversation i ever had. basically she told me it was almost impossible to get an A-.
screw it. if i can get A- under Dr. Bahar, i dont understand why i cnt get it under her. the subject isnt even that hard. i understand it. but it is just plain CRAZY to ask a person to write 8 pages for a freakin 15 marks question. i mean, who has the time?
Allah, please..i hope i can do well for this final. an A- pls pls. because if i dont do will, then my pointer will go down, and i already have some problems i dont want to think abt. i cnt lose this. my academics.
pls.
AMIN.
in-betweens
thats about just proly 1/20 of the inputs from the talk. but bear in mind, the homosexual committees now are fighting for their rights. they actually came up with a kindergarten book that includes homosexual parents in the syllabus. john's parents are 2 guys, and jane's parents are 2 women. so think about our future kids. if homos will be accepted as a norm, our kids will grow up accepting that its normal to be a homo. so take time to ponder aight.
on another note, i met madonna's dancer at the talk. wooooo!!! damn nice guy and has a strong faith. amin norman reverted to islam about 3 years ago and he just reverted his devoted christian dad to islam about 3 months ago. cool innit??!! hes still a dancer now. a devoted muslim dancer. coolness.
so lets be part of the ymp and express your thoughts about islam, current issues and the sorts. good day people!
