On The Economist news article, 'China politics: Another knife attack in Guangzhou' (7th May 2014).
In the third such attack in three months, six people were injured Tuesday in a knife attack at the main ralroad station in Guangzhou.
Guangzhou police said late Tuesday that there was only one assailant, who was shot and arrested, but witnesses earlier in the day described as many as four men who they said were positioned in different parts of the station.
Witnesses described attackers as being dressed in white and wearing white caps, often worn by Muslims, but it was unclear if they were Uighurs, the minority implicated in the earlier train station attacks.
MYCOMMENT: Like seriously, you don't need to report "often worn by Muslims" now, do you.

Virtual Kidnapping
There's a high rise of reported "virtual kidnapping" in metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Victims or their family members are telephoned and threatened into making ransom payments. Common crimes on the rise also are theft, carjacking, and robbery. Despite that, Buenos Aires is still safer than cities like Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) & Bogotá (Columbia) which are considered high risk places to live or travel to.
Case 1:
"In April the director of the La Matanza University in Buenos Aires was a victim of a virtual kidnap. The criminals claimed to have abducted his daughter and he was forced to leave a bag of money in a rubbish bin near his residence.
Statistics on virtual kidnaps are difficult to come by because in addition to underreporting, those incidents that are reported are registered under the broader category of ‘scams’ by security forces. According to the police, criminals are constantly changing their mobile phone numbers, which makes it difficult to track their calls."

Protests are expression of thoughts. The underlying truth is founded is intellectual development - through methods that reveal how information is reported and how knowledge is derived from it. Assimilation of knowledge can only succeed when one truly understands the importance of knowledge itself. This thereby condemns the theory of secularism. One cannot exist without divine intervention. Refusal to accept the relationship between you and your Creator limits and contaminates your modes of thought. Consequently restricts the chain of knowledge by contradicting the sole purpose of your existence in this Universe.
Why were you born in the first place, if misery is what is ordained to you?
Surely the steps you have taken is to make something of yourself and that is why religion is important. It gives you direction on HOW you can make something of yourself. Therefore I highly condemn the theory of secularism and its teachings. That system corrupts us all into believing that material gains is the utmost important and our inability to practise self-control is 'human nature' therefore inevitable.
Not only my generation and the generations after me are forced to clear the mess of the World Wars and the Cold War and the 'War on Terror' and climate change and yada yada yada, we are sidelined to become the object for the Big Players and the 'ruling elites', while they conveniently consider themselves as the subject of the planet, worthy of retribution and happiness. So ill say to hell with Karl Marx. To hell with Hobbes and Machiavelli. To hell with realism, capitalism and all its offsprings. It dont matter how great the ruling elites and academicians think they are. Your shity 'knowledge' aint workin for me. And it definitely aint workin for the rest of the people in the 21st century.

age 28. act like 18.
no wonder so many eligible, accomplished adult women still unmarried, forced into seclusion from the benefits of marriage, protects vulnerable women from harm. so what happen to women who r not given opportunity to be guided by respectable men? they end up being bitter n insecure n dats d horrible truth. but ppl dont speak of this ever-rapid trend. d society brush it off quickly, term it as "biasalah tu" scenario. here's d truth, its NOTHING normal abt it. cos its happening in many parts of d world. surprise2. in indonesia, men are known to drink away their life w their wife's hard earn $$$ by allowing their wives to migrate n work as maids in msia. in bangladesh, grameen bank lends money to borrowers, ±98% of them r women, committed in making change in their poor, worsening living conditions. want more facts? do ur own research, come back n we discuss tugede2
men's and women's limited capacity to comprehend and handle 21st century's rapid effects of globalisation+transformation surrounding them is rising. for men, its most prob attributed+stunted by watching too much pornography, wanking over FHM and enjoyin music vids w almostnaked ladies dangling themselves voluntarily. d amount of craving for a fake/model-like "fantasy" woman is most alarming. its not enough dat we have to deal and compete w body-perfect figures like RiRi and KatieP. now we gotha deal w immaturity? ahjoooo. this is what media and entertainment does to u. It distracts u frm d things dat r MORE important. distracts u & prolong d expected FULL maturity level and intellectual development. distracts us from whts more important for our own wellbeing and happiness.
what is happiness, success? it aint all abt $$, cars, power, chicks. The truth is plain, for the knowledgeable and learned ppl, whos aware of Who actually govern this universe.
"A recent survey of the top 100 Hollywood producers those people who determine what is played on the televisions and in the movie houses of America and much of the world revealed these attitudes: 93% of these top executives say they seldom or never attend religious services. 75% describe themselves as left-of-center politically. 80% do not regard homosexual relations as wrong. More than half said they do not regard adultery as wrong. Most importantly, two-thirds of these executives said they feel it is their job to promote these ideas their vision of the world through the media." http://www.unification.net/misc/21-women.html
eventho tv might be more appealing to younger audience as compared to working, older adults, this survey should at least be taken into consideration as the future generations dat r goin to be off the age, subsequently face d same probs dat we late 20s ppl do. cant we all just have lotsa fun [and] be mature+responsbile simultaneously? we are still children at heart. whoever says no is lying to themselves.
In britain, young adult girls in early 20s are seen to send naked pics of themselves to their male counterparts. why u ask? "cos theyre bored", i was told. my guy fren went on observing, enjoyin himself w d "fantastic" episode of his day(s). Now, imagine a diff scenerio, confronted and replied by a respectable man instead, >> "hey michelle, only knwn u couple wks. sendin me tis kind pics is quite[subtle approach] inappropriate. i respect women. in future, chud u try refrainin frm sendin it? cos ur worth so much more than u knw". there. is such leadership that hard to expect? O yes...y whud any guy at dat[in tis era, any] age wana address d issue like dat. dat just "aint cool" init?
virtues n qualities like honour, respect, tolerance & cooperation is lost in our minds.
at d end of time, 1 man will be forced to tc of 50 women at one time. how is it to say that we choose to be more dominant? is not not in YOUR God given nature to be dominant, taking control? so be one. take d necessary steps+efforts. so women and men alike can finally meet halfway. cos seriously, women are so easy to please. with d right words and right attitude, u can basically get ur wishes. there is nothing we cant/wont give, provided w d right direction. to balance it off, women must be reminded of patience and perseverance. if only one party[man] is willing to make d effort, itll still be an unresolved problem. women must learn how to please and support their partner, at all times.
not all women want to wear the pants in a relationship. given a condusive environment, women will nurture and shower their partner+offsprings with love and respect. no question about it. with strong leadership skills, giving guidance w subtlety, kindness and humility, aiming to only do good and right for each other, both sides will exceed the benefits that are worth fighting for. last, but not least, remind each other. ALWAYS remind each other. we humans forget. dats who are

Reduced crime rates in Malaysia?
Many may not know, but Malaysia is a multi-racial and multi-cultural
nation. Our population comprises ethnic groups of Malay, bumiputra (Malay
and non-malay indigenous people), Chinese and Indian. At an early stage
of our upbringing we have to learn to maintain high tolerance within the community
as different ethnicity practices different religion, values and beliefs.
Despite our differences, the importance of safety and security within the
community is very vital to all Malaysians. Our most fearful and darkest days
still remain on the events that had occurred on the 13th of May
1969, where riots broke lose due to racial politics, which have caused the
death of over 180 lives or more in less than 3 months. It has been more than 40
decades now since after the dreadful unrest and racial tension. Today, despite
the occasional racial criticism we hear in the news amongst political leaders
and government officials, we still maintain our ground as a peaceful and sound society
overall.
However, one of the
most pressing security issues faced by Malaysians today is the rising crime
rates in populous cities. Be it snatch theft, kidnapping, assaults, robberies
or carjacking, the statistics for these crimes are rising. Despite government
efforts in reducing crime rates, many citizens are facing difficulties in
combating these issues. Even though the responsible authority on addressing
these issues have held on statistics showing that the country’s crime
rate has dipped considerably[1],
many of us are still sceptical to the result of the statistics, urging and suggesting
to government that they appoint other third party to conduct an independent
review. These crime rates are also highly attributed by the weakening economy
and lax in implementing migration laws. On top of our local criminals, citizens
of Malaysia are faced with challenges and threats by immigrants from Indonesia,
Nigeria and Iran. Many reported snatch theft victims end up in Intensive Care
Unit (ICU) or die as they hit their head hard on the ground while their bodies
are being dragged.
In Malaysia, even though the issues of crimes are not as controversial
as the U.S.’s involvement in aiding rebels in Afghanistan in going against
their de facto government, the Royal Malaysia Police (Polis Diraja
Malaysia, PDRM) force is weak in their reinforcement of laws and “intelligence
procurement” in crime prevention. Although countless reports are lodged by
citizens, the successful outcomes of those reports are bleak and unnoticeable.
More and more people are voicing out their experiences on social network as
warning to others. Where are the leaders that have promised in addressing and
combating these issues? I fear that, like other nations that have followed the
democratic and capitalist system, we will now embark into the era of criminal
oppression faster than before you could say “O shit…”.

'Jesus Wife' Research Leads To Suspicions That Artifact Is A Fake
Posted: 09/26/2012 4:18 pm EDT Updated: 09/26/2012 5:11 pm EDT
Facing mounting doubts over
the legitimacy of a business card-sized Coptic papyrus fragment that
appears to quote Jesus Christ discussing his wife, the Harvard professor
who acquired the artifact said Wednesday that she stands behind her
findings, but is "open to questions about authenticity."
Karen L. King, the Harvard Divinity School professor whose announcement at a Coptic studies conference in Rome last week about a 1½-by-3-inch fragment inspired "Jesus' Wife" headlines worldwide, said the badly damaged artifact has been sent for testing. She said the tests should determine if it is from the fourth century as originally proposed, or if parts of it are a modern forgery, as an increasing number of scholars of Coptology and papyrology have suggested.
The fragment, which has eight mostly legible dark lines on the front side and six barely legible faded lines on the back, was never meant to prove Jesus was married, King said, since its writing dates back to hundreds of years after his death. It was intended to highlight that some early Christians may have believed he was married. That would be significant because debates over sexuality and marriage have dominated contemporary discussions about Christianity; the Catholic Church cites Jesus' celibacy as one reason its priests must not have sex or marry.
The legible lines on the front of the artifact seem to be a conversation between Jesus and his disciples. The fourth line of the text says, "Jesus said to them, my wife." Line 5 says "... she will be able to be my disciple," while the line before the "wife" quote has Jesus saying "Mary is worthy of it" and line 7 says, “As for me, I dwell with her in order to ..."
King, who carefully guarded her discovery until the Rome conference, released photos of the fragment and a draft of a related paper, scheduled to be published in the Harvard Theological Review. But after the conference, scholars quickly began to doubt the findings. Some said the handwriting, grammar, shape of the papyrus, and the ink's color and quality make it suspect. Others said the ink and papyrus should have been chemically dated before being publicly announced. The fact that the fragment's owner is unknown also has attracted suspicion.
King said the owner acquired the piece in 1997 from a German owner and wants to remain anonymous.
On Wednesday, bloggers began circulating a rumor that the Harvard Theological Review reneged on publishing King's 52-page paper titled, "Gospel of Jesus' Wife" because of doubts over whether the papyrus was genuine.
Helmut Koester, a professor emeritus of Harvard Divinity School and a former 25-year editor of the journal, said in an interview that he heard "they did not want to publish because of doubts from two respected scholars." Koester, who specializes in early Christianity and early Christian archaeology, added that after seeing an evaluation of King's work from a colleague in the field, he was "absolutely convinced that this is a modern forgery."
A call to the Harvard Theological Review was redirected to a Harvard spokesman, and Kevin Madigan, the journal's co-editor, did not reply to an email. But in an earlier Associated Press article, Madigan said King's paper had only been "provisionally" accepted for a January publication. He said that there would be ongoing studies about the "scientific dating and further reports from Coptic papyrologists and grammarians."
King, however, said on Wednesday that her work is on track to be published in January.
Craig Evans, a New Testament professor at Acadia Divinity College in Nova Scotia, is one of the scholars who still has questions. Evans blogged Wednesday on Near Emmaus, a biblical history website, that he thought "the papyrus itself is probably quite old, perhaps fourth or fifth century, but the oddly written letters are probably modern and probably reflect recent interest in Jesus and Mary Magdalene."
"It's usually the science that precedes the big announcements. These things aren't usually left untested, especially where a papyrologist has not uncovered it in Egypt," said Evans in an interview.
King said Wednesday that she is "very anxious" to see what testing determines and that she is working on additions to her paper in response to criticisms. She also plans to report on the ink and papyrus analysis. It's unclear when testing will be complete.
"The idea was precisely to put it in the hands of scholars so we can began the discussion, to get opinions about authenticity, what they see in the fragment and what they think it is, what the conversations are," King said. "That's what we are seeing ... This is the academic process."

Some of the smartest dummies
Can’t read the language of Egyptian mummies
An’ a fly go a moon
And can’t find food for the starving tummies
Pay no mind to the youths
Cause it’s not like the future depends on it
But save the animals in the zoo
Cause the chimpanzee dem a make big money
This is how the media pillages
On the TV the picture is
Savages in villages
And the scientist still can’t explain the pyramids, huh
Evangelists making a living on the videos of ribs of the little kids
Stereotyping the image of the images
And this is what the image is
You buy a khaki pants
And all of a sudden you say a Indiana Jones
An’ a thief out gold and thief out the scrolls and even the buried bones
Some of the worst paparazzis I’ve ever seen and I ever known
Put the worst on display so the world can see
And that’s all they will ever show
So the ones in the west
Will never move east
And feel like they could be at home
Dem get tricked by the beast
But a where dem ago flee when the monster is fully grown?
Solomonic linage whe dem still can’t defeat and them coulda never clone
My spiritual DNA that print in my soul and I will forever Own Lord
Yeah, Sabali. Thats patience. That’s what the old folks told me…
Discovering the World before this World. A World buried in time.
Uncover with rhymes. It gets no realer.
Huh, we born not knowing, are we born knowing all?
We growing wiser, are we just growing tall?
Can you read thoughts? can you read palms?
Huh, can you predict the future? can you see storms, coming?
The Earth was flat if you went too far you would fall off
Now the Earth is round if the shape change again everybody woulda start laugh
The average man can’t prove of most of the things that he chooses to speak of
And still won’t research and find out the root of the truth that you seek of
Scholars teach in Universities and claim that they’re smart and cunning
Tell them find a cure when we sneeze and that’s when their nose start running
And the rich get stitched up, when we get cut
Man a heal dem broken bones in the bush with the wed mud
Can you read signs? can you read stars?
Can you make peace? can you fight war?
Can you milk cows, even though you drive cars? huh
Can you survive, Against All Odds, Now?
It’s crazy when you feed people the truth you don’t know how they’re gonna react. You’re scared of wrong doers, people that just ignorant, You’re scared of the truth, be patient for now.
Who wrote the Bible? Who wrote the Qur’an?
And was it a lightning storm
That gave birth to the Earth
And then dinosaurs were born? damn
Who made up words? who made up numbers?
And what kind of spell is mankind under?
Everything on the planet we preserve and can it
Microwaved it and try it
No matter what we’ll survive it
What’s hue? what’s man? what’s human?
Anything along the land we consuming
Eatin’, deletin’, ruin
Trying to get paper
Gotta have land, gotta have acres
So I can sit back like Jack Nicholson
Watch n-ggas play the game like the lakers
In a world full of 52 fakers
Gypsies, seances, mystical prayers
You superstitious? throw salt over your shoulders
Make a wish for the day cuz
Like somebody got a doll of me
Stickin’ needles in my arteries
But I can’t feel it
Sometimes it’s like ‘pardon me, but I got a real big spirit’
I’m fearless…. I’m fearless
Don’t you try and grab hold of my soul
It’s like a military soldier since seven years old
I held real dead bodies in my arms
Felt their body turn cold, oh
Why we born in the first place
If this is how we gotta go?
Damn.
